Emfietzoglou Collection and Residence

The gallery houses a diverse collection of art and each of its levels receive a distinct lighting approach specific to the type of art on display and the architecture of the space, enhancing the experience of the visitors.

Emfientzoglou collection spans across several buildings with a total area of 3000 sq.m. with several of them being part of the owner’s residence. The lighting design is not that of a typical art gallery but more of a hybrid one in order to accommodate different uses simultaneously. Our approach for the dedicated gallery spaces brings the art in the foreground by using several different lighting techniques in unison, spotlighting, wall-washing and combining different color light sources being the major ones.
A centralized KNX system manages the lighting by receiving input from an array of lux sensors.
